Ilona Korstin Fundamentals
DescriptionLearning to become a good ball-handler, and developing a feel for the ball is vitally important in becoming an excellent all-around player. The most difficult fundamentals, including shooting, passing, catching, dribbling, and rebounding, involve holding the ball. Players should work on these skills every day. Have them hold the ball with their fingertips. The palms of their hands should not touch the ball. Make sure their fingers are far apart. Players should perform ball-handling drills at the start of every practice and throughout the entire season. Have them keep their eyes forward, without looking at the ball.
